This project involves the internal and external remodelling of an early 20th century property in Surrey. The existing building has suffered at least 2 previous ‘remodelling’ schemes which have detracted from the appearance and, usability of the original house. Reconnecting internal spaces whilst redefining the external appearance of the building into constituent parts has redefined this family home. Externally, the building is wrapped in a shiplap skin, a type of construction commonly found in southern England. A number of key moves have been used to ensure the internal spaces take full advantage of the site and the aspect. The ground floor living space redefined creating fewer, larger living volumes. and the pool extension is visually separated from the host house with continuous slot glazing.
