CWA's scheme for 26 flats on the site of the former Dolphin Public House has been granted planning approval.
Sited on the outskirts of Walsall, the contemporary scheme draws from the eclectic mix of building typologies and materials that neighbour the site to compose this progressive design solution.
The building's colourful northern facade is folded in sawtooth fashion referencing the industrial buildings opposite. This design element directs views away from the industrial site and into the landscape beyond whilst baffling the noise of its neighbour.
The scheme's 'L' shape creates a gardened communal quadrangle at the rear of the site whilst ensuring that each flat is dual-aspect and all street frontages are overlooked.
