Totteridge tender stage nears completion

12.03.2009

As the final tender returns arrive for this extensive renovation in Barnet, the project reaches a significant milestone.

Nearly two years after its inception, the design has evolved through widely varied iterations to reach this point. In 2006, the scheme was conceaved as a renovation of the detached house. Later, a contemporary new-build version was proposed before the latest design, another renovation (pictured), was settled upon.

This scheme embraces the gambrel roofed detached home, expoiting the existing structure to create modern and exciting spaces internally. These spaces spill into the rear garden via a minimal contemporary extension with plentiful glazing. The traditional character of the street facing facade has been preserved.
